Volleyball Recap: South Lafourche's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but South Lafourche unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 3-1 to the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tarpons of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2018.

South Lafourche was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Vandebilt Catholic work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 27-25.

South Lafourche's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Addison Rodrigue, who had 12 digs and two aces, and Jolie Callais, who had 16 digs and two assists. Rodrigue has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times she's played.

South Lafourche's defeat dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Vandebilt Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-16.

South Lafourche didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against A.J. Ellender on the 21st. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Berwick on the 21st.
