Softball Recap: Mission San Jose Victorious

Mission San Jose's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Irvington Vikings 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 23, 2024.

Hailey Pan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Neha Okhade was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Mission San Jose's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Irvington, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mission San Jose is set to square off against their familiar foe Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Irvington will challenge rival James Logan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
