Baseball Recap: West Prairie Comes Up Short

West Prairie came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to the Beardstown Tigers.

West Prairie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Whitman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

West Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Beardstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Prairie will welcome Bushnell-Prairie City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cyclones are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a 27-game losing streak. As for Beardstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brown County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
