Baseball Recap: Cienega Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Cienega had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Flowing Wells Caballeros as they made off with a 15-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 last Monday.

ANDREW ROMO made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. ROMO was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cienega got a massive performance out of JAMES LINZMEYER, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The Bobcats are 7-2 when LINZMEYER posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. ISRAEL HERNANDEZ also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Cienega always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Cienega's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Flowing Wells, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season.

Cienega will be playing at home against Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flowing Wells, they will venture away from home to take on Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
