Basketball Game Preview: Green Level Gators vs. Willow Spring Storm + Official Tickets

Green Level has gone a perfect 3-0 against Willow Spring recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Green Level came up short against Cardinal Gibbons and fell 64-56. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 19th).

Despite the loss, Green Level saw an underclassman step up: freshman Andrew Martinho went 7-for-15 to rack up 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinho has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Schall, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Willow Spring beat Cary 78-67 on Monday.

Willow Spring's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Green Level, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Green Level didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Willow Spring in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
