Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jacob Lulling and Dominic Gale

St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Tri-City Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on April 10th.

While St. Joseph Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.

St. Joseph Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominic Gale, who had nine kills, four blocks, three digs, and three aces, and Jacob Lulling, who had ten digs and one assist. Gale is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now had two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

St. Joseph Academy now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Tri-City Christian, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Joseph Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Army-Navy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian will challenge rival Del Lago Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Firebirds have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
