After a string of six wins, Damascus's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Urbana Hawks by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hornets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Aislinn Sell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Damascus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-1. As for Urbana, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Damascus will venture away from home to take on Paint Branch at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Urbana, they will square off against Linganore on Wednesday.
