Volleyball Recap: Central's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Central had already won five in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Everything went their way against the East Longmeadow Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Central's got stronger as the match went on, holding East Longmeadow to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-14.

Central's offense was headlined by Sitay Abdulahi and Nevaeh Branyon, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Mayanah Cabrera and her ten assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for East Longmeadow, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Central will square off against Commerce at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for East Longmeadow, they will challenge Easthampton/Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
