Baseball Recap: Southern Lee Takes a Loss

If Southern Lee was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Jordan-Matthews last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southern Lee fell 7-2 to the Pinecrest Patriots on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 last Tuesday.

Southern Lee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan McCollum, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southern Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Pinecrest, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southern Lee is set to challenge their familiar foe Hoke County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pinecrest will take on rival Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
