Basketball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

If Oxford was riding high fresh off their 76-31 takedown of Caldwell last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oxford Wildcats took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Raiders on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Oxford lost, don't look at Zane Whitson. Despite the final result, he posted seven points and six assists. Connor Commerford was another key player, putting up eight points.

Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Central, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2-1.

As of now, neither Oxford nor Central have any future games scheduled.
