Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Hamilton Heights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 47-38 win over the East Central Trojans on Friday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Trojans are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why East Central lost, don't look at Peyton Hofer. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Hofer also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Reynolds, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Hamilton Heights back to even at 5-5. As for East Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Hamilton Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-56 win against Trinity Lutheran on the 28th. As for East Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-46 loss against Switzerland County on the 28th.
