Basketball Game Preview: North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers vs. Walton Braves

Having just played yesterday, the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers will get right back to it and host the Walton Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Bay Haven Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

North Bay Haven Academy will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Rutherford, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Buccaneers really took it to the Rams for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-29 victory. The Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kaylee Goodpaster, who dropped a triple-double with 21 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Bay Haven Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Ally Brady, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

North Bay Haven Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. They are 3-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Walton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 36-23 win over Maclay on Friday.

Walton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Things could have been worse for North Bay Haven Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Walton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
