Football Recap: Royal Palm Beach Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Royal Palm Beach's offense. They had to suffer through a 31-0 loss at the hands of the West Boca Raton Bulls. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this game were averaging 10.86 points allowed.

Royal Palm Beach's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Rauol Brown and Demetrice Rolle, who each picked up one interception apiece.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Boca Raton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinton Miller Jr., who rushed for 160 yards and one TD while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Miller Jr. showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Moran, who rushed for 91 yards and one score on only five carries.

Royal Palm Beach's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for West Boca Raton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Royal Palm Beach has already played their next contest, a 26-14 loss against Palm Beach Gardens on the 17th. As for West Boca Raton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 26-20 defeat against Cardinal Newman on the 17th.
