Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Indian Braves vs. Robertson Cardinals

Santa Fe Indian hasn't had much luck against Robertson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Santa Fe Indian Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Robertson Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Santa Fe Indian and West Las Vegas, and Santa Fe Indian kept the tradition alive. Santa Fe Indian simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat West Las Vegas 83-50. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Robertson entered their tilt with Santa Fe Indian on Thursday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 52-43.

Robertson found their leader in sophomore Nathan Gonzales, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Gonzales is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Nathaniel Gonzales was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Robertson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Santa Fe Indian has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. Robertson pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
