Football Recap: Jontae Wingo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chase over East Burke + How To Watch

Chase extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They came up short against the East Burke Cavaliers, falling 38-14. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2016.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jontae Wingo, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD. Kaiden Boyce helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards and a rushing touchdown.

As for East Burke, their win bumped their record up to 3-5. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

East Burke was led to victory by Ossie Burkeen and Carter Bennett. Burkeen rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns, while Bennett rushed for 128 yards and one score. Those 183 rushing yards gave Burkeen a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Chase will square off against Draughn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for East Burke, they will take on East Rutherford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Rutherford will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something East Burke surely won't give up without a fight.
