Softball Recap: Corona Del Mar's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Corona del Mar's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the Portola Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. For the Sea Kings, this counts as revenge for the 26-8 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Not much got past Kiera Madan, who gave up just six hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Portola off the board.

At the plate, Makenna Smith was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

The win snapped Corona del Mar's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-14 record. As for Portola, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corona del Mar will take on Los Alamitos at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portola, they will face off against University at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
