Volleyball Recap: Maple Grove Takes Down Ranked Osseo

Maple Grove faced Osseo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Crimson put the hurt on the Orioles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Crimson not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16th (when they won 3-0).

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-12, 25-21.

Gavin Chabica paced Maple Grove's offense, picking up 12 kills. Chabica got some help from Ryan Patten and his 37 assists. Max Miley controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Maple Grove's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-11. As for Osseo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maple Grove is set to square off against their familiar foe Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Osseo will challenge rival Coon Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
