Football Recap: Lower Dauphin Skates Past Palmyra with Ease

Lower Dauphin not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 44-0). They blew past the Palmyra Cougars 41-7. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lower Dauphin had a senior duo take command as Hunter Strohm rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries and Ethan Tanner rushed for 101 yards and one score on only nine carries. Strohm also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Falcons are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Nick Hengst got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lower Dauphin's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Strohm and Logan 'Ace' Andrews, who each picked up one sack apiece. Hengst got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lower Dauphin now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Palmyra, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Dauphin will square off against Mifflin County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Palmyra, they will take on Gettysburg at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
