Basketball Game Preview: Clarke Indians vs. Centerville Big Reds/Redettes

The Clarke Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Centerville Big Reds/Redettes at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Clarke took a blow against Albia, falling 83-35. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Centerville came up short against Montezuma on Tuesday and fell 78-67. While losing is never fun, the Big Reds/Redettes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Braves are ranked 41st).

Clarke's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Centerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Clarke was able to grind out a solid win over Centerville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 67-59. Does Clarke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centerville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
