Basketball Recap: Clover Hill Comes Up Short

Clover Hill was the 52-50 winner over Huguenot when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Clover Hill Cavaliers took a hard 54-39 fall against the Huguenot Falcons on Monday. The contest marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Huguenot had a senior duo take command as Kaemon Smith dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds and Trevion Brown went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points and four steals. Brown has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Horatio Kinlock, who posted seven points and five boards.

Clover Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Huguenot, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Coming up, Clover Hill will head out to challenge L.C. Bird at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. L.C. Bird knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Clover Hill likes a good challenge. As for Huguenot, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Monacan at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Monacan sitting on five straight victories and Huguenot on three.
