Volleyball Recap: Hayden Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Manhattan

Hayden faced Manhattan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat last Thursday.

While Hayden was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Hayden still got an impressive performance from Ella Foster, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Janie Hilgers was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and one assist.

Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Manhattan, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
