Soccer Recap: Coweta Takes a Loss

Coweta fought the good fight in their overtime match against McAlester on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Coweta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 70th, while McAlester are ranked 18th).

Coweta's goal came courtesy of Ja'Bryan Smith, who's now up to four this season.

Coweta's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for McAlester, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Coweta will welcome Will Rogers College at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McAlester, they will square off against Nathan Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McAlester are facing Nathan Hale at the right time seeing as Nathan Hale are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
