Basketball Game Preview: West Carrollton Pirates vs. Piqua Indians

West Carrollton and Piqua are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The West Carrollton Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Piqua Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Carrollton will be strutting in after a win while Piqua will be coming in after a loss.

West Carrollton will head into Wednesday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a 25-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 victory over Fairborn.

Meanwhile, Piqua came up short against Stebbins on Wednesday and fell 45-33. Piqua has struggled against Stebbins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Piqua's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for West Carrollton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-12.

West Carrollton ended up a good deal behind Piqua in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 55-41. Can West Carrollton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
