Softball Game Preview: Laney Buccaneers vs. Harnett Central Trojans

The Laney Buccaneers will head out to face off against the Harnett Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harnett Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Laney, who comes in off a win.

Laney is headed out to face Harnett Central after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Laney was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Dixon on Thursday.

Laney let Layla Carr and Isabella Stevens run wild. Carr scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Stevens went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most stolen bases Carr has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carly Krueger, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Harnett Central came up short against South View on Thursday and fell 8-3.

Harnett Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Faulkner, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
