Basketball Game Preview: Denver Christian Thunder vs. Roaring Fork Rams

The Denver Christian Thunder will take on the Roaring Fork Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Denver Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Denver Christian managed to keep up with Forge Christian until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Denver Christian had to suffer through a 74-47 loss at the hands of Forge Christian. Meanwhile, Roaring Fork made easy work of Gunnison on Saturday and carried off a 59-35 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Roaring Fork's win came from a few key players Denver Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kiko Pena, who scored eight points in addition to 17 boards and four blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Brennan, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 11 points.

Roaring Fork's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Denver Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
