Softball Recap: Centerville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Beavercreek

There's no place like home for Centerville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Beavercreek Beavers on Thursday as they made off with a 15-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-5 last Friday.

Chayse Adkins made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Lillie Hopf was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Riley Bakan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Centerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Beavercreek, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Centerville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-5 win against Springboro on the 9th. As for Beavercreek, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-4 victory against Springfield on the 9th.
