Baseball Recap: Oceanside Takes a Loss

Oceanside had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it five. They came up short against the Fallbrook Warriors, falling 17-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Tuesday.

As for Fallbrook, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fallbrook's part, Mason Mendoza looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Camden Hoff was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Evan Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

While Oceanside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
