After a string of five wins, Milpitas's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palo Alto Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat last Wednesday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Palo Alto scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17.

Audrie Huang paced Milpitas' offense, picking up five kills. Huang got some help from Ashley Chen and her nine assists. Chen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Milpitas' defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Palo Alto, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

Milpitas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Lincoln on the 13th. As for Palo Alto, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
