Basketball Preview: DSST: College View Wolves vs. Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans
The DSST: College View Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
DSST: College View has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a rough 75-38 loss at the hands of DSST: Conservatory Green. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points DSST: College View has scored all season.
Despite their loss, DSST: College View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Joshua Sosa, who scored 11 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Sosa hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Tomita, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Aurora West College Prep Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Denver Waldorf at home and fell 56-25. Aurora West College Prep Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
DSST: College View has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.
DSST: College View suffered a grim 72-48 defeat to the Spartans in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for DSST: College View, Dakota Galloway (who scored 30 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
