The Wolfe City Wolves have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 41-31 win over Celeste on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Wolfe City, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wolfe City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cavan Armstrong led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Adams, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Wolfe City's win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-18. As for Celeste, they bumped their record down to 11-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Wolfe City will be playing in front of their home fans against Honey Grove at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Honey Grove is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Celeste, they will head out on the road to face off against Sam Rayburn at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
