Softball Recap: Frankfort Panthers vs. Great Crossing
Frankfort extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They lost 16-4 to Great Crossing. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against Great Crossing this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss on Monday.
As for Great Crossing, the win got them back to even at 8-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Great Crossing's part, Kyleigh Harrison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Harrison was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Brooke Smith was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Marcum, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Looking ahead, Great Crossing will venture away from home to square off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankfort will be paying especially close attention to Great Crossing's match: after Great Crossing face off against Anderson County, they'll take on Frankfort again at 6:00 p.m.
