Baseball Recap: Damien Find Success

Damien owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against the Upland Highlanders/Scots by a score of 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Highlanders/Scots: they've now won three in a row.

Damien got a great performance from Rudy O'Dell as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts O'Dell has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elius Kelly, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brady Bickham, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Damien now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Upland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Damien will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Highlanders/Scots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
