Baseball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

The Cooper Jaguars didn't have quite enough to beat the Prestonsburg Blackcats on Friday and fell 8-7.

Cooper's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15-1. As for Prestonsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-18.

Coming up, Cooper will head out to square off against Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Prestonsburg, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Breathitt County at 11:30 a.m. The Blackcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
