Temescal Canyon moved up to 327 from 372 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sunbelt. The Titans were able to make the jump by losing to Heritage 24-7.
Temescal Canyon made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,973 from 4,498. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 24-7 victory over Mike Sands Sr.'s team last week.
Paloma Valley's dynamic duo of Brent Boehm and Steven Mayo proved tough for Perris to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Boehm threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns and Mayo had 79 yards receiving. Marcus Page helped Paloma Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 77 yards.
Jamal Morrow was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 208 yards as the Patriots bested the Panthers. Sione Takitaki also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback Boehm of Paloma Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1270. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, Heritage's Morrow has rushed for 1312 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jalen Lipscomb. The Perris star has 24 catches for 574 yards.
The top two teams in Sunbelt will face off this week when first place Paloma Valley takes on second place Heritage. Bert Esposito's team bested Perris last week, while the Patriots defeated the Titans.
Elsinore's Allan Stubbs is a mere 91 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Stubbs has rushed for 909 yards on 123 carries so far this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Heritage takes on the Wildcats. The Patriots have allowed 113 points this season, while Paloma Valley has given up 96. Heritage allowed 7 points last week as it topped the Titans.
