Volleyball Recap: Torres Starts off Right with Win over Mendota

Torres gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mendota Aztecs.

Torres not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Mendota between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

Trinity Anderson paced Torres' offense, picking up ten kills. Anderson got some help from Tarin Anderson and her 19 assists. Giana Gonzalez controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Torres is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Madera at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mendota, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Fowler at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
