Baseball Game Preview: Ontario Jaguars vs. Chaffey Tigers

For the second straight game, Ontario will face off against Chaffey. The Jaguars will head out to square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Ontario's offense. They fell just short of Chaffey by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

For Chaffey's part, not much got past Jacob Venegas, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Ontario off the board. Venegas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chaffey saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Alcala, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Chaffey hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Chaffey's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Ontario, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
