Basketball Recap: West Laurens Comes Up Short

West Laurens extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were outmatched by the Baldwin Braves and fell 86-28. The Raiders lost against the Braves in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 64-50 score last time.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Stephens, who posted ten points. Issac Cross was another key player, putting up three points and five boards.

As for Baldwin, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 72.5 points this season.

Karez Demory produced another solid effort shooting 56% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Billups, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 13 points.

West Laurens has already played their next game, a 67-53 loss against Westside on the 4th. As for Baldwin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 victory against Harlem on the 5th.
