Softball Game Preview: Menchville Monarchs vs. Kecoughtan Warriors

For the second straight game, Menchville will face off against Kecoughtan. The Monarchs will venture away from home to challenge the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Menchville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Kecoughtan on Tuesday. They lost 17-1 to the Warriors. The Monarchs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Rashani Sackey (2026) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Mikaylah Franco (2026) also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Kecoughtan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Menchville, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
