Baseball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

The Carlmont Scots will take on the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacred Heart Prep took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carlmont, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Carlmont turned things around against Burlingame on Friday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-4. The game was the first time the Scots have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 20, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Pano Koutoulas, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Carlmont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise. Aidan O'Driscoll was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Sequoia hit Sacred Heart Prep with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gators fell just short of the Ravens by a score of 6-4. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Sacred Heart Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nico Pollioni, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Sacred Heart Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Carlmont, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Carlmont couldn't quite get it done against Sacred Heart Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
