Softball Recap: Glenns Ferry Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Glenns Ferry had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Genesee Bulldogs on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Pilots, who have now won six contests in a row.

Taylor Martinez made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sahira Arevalo was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Glenns Ferry's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Genesee, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.

Glenns Ferry has already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Potlatch on the 15th. As for Genesee, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-7 win against Garden Valley on the 15th.
