Basketball Game Preview: Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays vs. West Shamokin Wolves

The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays will square off against the West Shamokin Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

If Conemaugh Valley beats West Shamokin with 71 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Conemaugh Valley walked away with a 71-60 win over Ferndale on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Blue Jays as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Conemaugh Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremy Dietz, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Dietz's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Henry, who posted 20 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, West Shamokin made easy work of Apollo Ridge on Monday and carried off a 67-42 win.

West Shamokin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Conemaugh Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Conemaugh Valley was able to grind out a solid win over West Shamokin when the teams last played back in January, winning 80-67. Does Conemaugh Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Shamokin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
