Softball Recap: Billings West Takes a Loss

Billings West fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Billings Central Catholic on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Rams, falling 12-6.

Alise Steinmetz and Tayten Abrams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Steinmetz went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Abrams went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Abrams' first of the season. Ryane Viker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Billings West's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Billings Central Catholic, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, Billings West will take on Great Falls at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Bears are facing the Bison at the right time seeing as the Bison are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Billings Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
