Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Quinter

Quinter waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Decatur Community Red Devils. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Red Devils last Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Quinter was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (71-67), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Ka'Mara Harvey paced Quinter's offense, picking up nine kills. Harvey got some help from Kendyl Johnson and her 19 assists. Finally, Shaylee Baalman kept Quinter's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Despite the defeat, Decatur Community saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Williby had nine digs and one assist.

Quinter's win bumped their record up to 27-10. As for Decatur Community, their loss dropped their record down to 20-18.

Quinter has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against South Gray on the 30th. Decatur Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
