While Lakeside's win against South Effingham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 2-1 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Allie Jost paced Lakeside's offense, picking up eight kills. Jost got some help from Dayea Matocha and her 27 assists. Shelby Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leah Magana and Lauren Olson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Magana had 22 assists and three digs, while Olson had seven digs and one assist.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Lakeside will host Grovetown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Effingham, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Statesboro on the 7th.
