Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors, falling 19-9. The 76ers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztec Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ethan T. Lamosao was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Elijah Todd, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one double.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Yerba Buena, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-8.

While Independence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
