Baseball Game Preview: Sun Valley Vanguards vs. Kennett Blue Demons

The Sun Valley Vanguards are taking a road trip to challenge the Kennett Blue Demons at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Sun Valley nor Kennett posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Sun Valley fell victim to Bishop Shanahan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-0. The Vanguards have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Sun Valley got a good showing from Austin Miazza, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Miazza has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Sun Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Comisiak, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Kennett nor Unionville made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Blue Demons fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 3-2. The Blue Demons' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Cole Doherty was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Kennett's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Sun Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Sun Valley couldn't quite get it done against Kennett in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 3-0. Can the Vanguards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
