Softball Recap: Draughn Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Draughn couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 4-1 to the West Wilkes Blackhawks on Wednesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avie Helton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Draughn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lindsey Hensley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Hensley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.

Draughn's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for West Wilkes, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-1.

As of now, neither Draughn nor the Blackhawks have any future games scheduled.
