Softball Game Preview: Warren East Raiders vs. Cumberland County Panthers

Warren East has gone a perfect 5-0 against Cumberland County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Warren East is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Logan County 18-3 on Monday. Considering the Raiders have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kennedy Lawson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Jones, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Warren East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Cumberland County entered their tilt with Monroe County on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 16-1 victory.

With the win, Warren East broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 20-10. As for Cumberland County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

Warren East took their win against Cumberland County when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 15-6 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
