Softball Recap: Strafford Indians vs. Buffalo Bison
Strafford won the last time they faced Buffalo and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bison.
The team relied heavily on Presley McCain, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Rhodes, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Strafford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strafford will take on Reeds Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buffalo, they will be playing at home against Springfield Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bison surely won't give up without a fight.
