Baseball Recap: Ukiah Wins Going Away Against Montgomery

Ukiah won the last time they faced Montgomery and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ukiah Wildcats were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Montgomery Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Jaxon Mellus looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Takoda Newman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Ukiah's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Montgomery, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Ukiah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 win against Eureka on the 7th. As for Montgomery, they will square off against Healdsburg at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th.
